Commercial Finance

Mrs A, who is a former colleague and works for a finance organisation rang in desperation to see if we could help some of her clients.

Mr & Mrs B owned their own home with a mortgage already on it. Mrs B’s employers were retiring and Mrs B had decided that she would like to buy the business. They had secured finance for half the deal through their bank, and were raising their contribution through their mortgage. After 3 weeks Mrs A. had to ring them and inform them that her company could not help, and sought our assistance. The problem was further compounded by the fact the deal had to be signed and paid for by 30th May, and today was the 28th April.

A number of calls were made to potential lenders, with, to some degree, the deal going to whoever could guarantee the funds being available to the Solicitor by the 25th May, and give him time to complete the transaction.

A space was created in one of our consultants diary’s so that he could visit the clients on the 30th April and complete the paperwork. The clients living 2 hours drive away, and working some 50 miles apart. The case submitted the same day – the Lender agreed and had an ‘offer’ to the clients on the 16th May, and Mr & Mrs B completed the transaction on time.

Mrs B is now the proud owner of her own business, and Mrs A feels more than comfortable to refer clients to us if indeed she cannot help.
